We did not promote an assistant. Heck we don't even have assistants. The last day to automatically get out of contracts was last Thursday. We posted the job and accepted applications until Wednesday, and then interviewed on Thursday morning. We made the decision on Thursday afternoon and the job was accepted. I know we may have missed a good applicant who might have applied later, but we didn't want to miss out on a good coach because they couldn't get out of their contract. We definitely fast-tracked this process, but I have no doubt we got a good one.

That was a very good explaination for what I would consider a very good decision on the part of those involved. I really hated to hear that Coach Riley would be leaving but excited about the future...for the team and the community. I would like to wish Joe good luck and thank him for his friendship.
