We still got some roster spots for the Brazos Bowl all star football game June 19-22 in Strawn. You must be a graduating senior. If you or someone you know is interested give me a shout. It is open to public and private school players.

I just saw the thread about the 6 on 6's in Strawn on the 22nd. Is the Brazos Bowl still happening there that weekend? If so, which day, what time? Is there a roster yet?

Brazos Bowl All Star Weekend will be held in Strawn on June 22, 2019. Admission cost is $5.

Volleyball game starts at 2:00pm

Football game starts at 6:00pm

I want to personally thank Sixmania for all their help with this game. They are providing a meal, taking pictures and broadcasting the game. If you see any of these folks, give them a high five and a pat on the back. They are awesome!!!!

Thanks coach.

I looked on sixmania and didn't see anything there. I can't remember, is this the game that has public vs private or DI vs DII? Just curious, if anyone knows who the coaches are, is there a roster of players, will a program be available at the game? Last chance to see some of these guy's play though I imagine some will be at the coaches all star game.

Brazos Bowl Final:
Blue Team 52
Red Team 16
Too much Villanueva and Fraga??

Nope. I'd have loved to have seen a closer game but I think the players on both teams had fun in a final game for many of them. The second half was competitive. It was 30-0 at the half. So the blue team won the second half 22-16. Hodgkins basically took over one drive in the third and said I'm not getting shut out.

Fraga had to be the MVP or offensive player of the game. Which is well and good. Even with all the recognition he has received I think he might have been under appreciated outside Strawn compared to Carlos, Tanner, Ivan and JC.

That said, Mendoza was big for the Blue on O & D. Both the guys from Rochelle came up big on D. Presley from Bracken Christian had some big runs on offense too. It was nice to see a Mallory on the Strawn turf again making some good runs for the Red team, his long one, where they had him at the line of scrimmage set up the second TD by Hodgkins.

I don't remember Carlos scoring in this game which is unusual. But he still put on a show, as usual. Duckin and a dodging, getting out of tackles that look like they were already made. So fast and quick he spun his wheels a couple of times and wiped out. Still fun to watch, for the last time.

Looks like any graduating senior from a public or private school could or might have been able to participate in this game. Strawn was the host and five of its ten seniors wanted to play.

It's been around since at least 2013. Hosted that year by Knox City.

They hosted it in 2016 also, not sure about 2015. 2017 it was in Covington. Strawn hosted it in 2018 also. There were 24 players on that team. Four were from Strawn. There were19 on this years roster. You can see last years roster here.

Of those four Strawn players in the 2018 Brazos Bowl three of them went on to play in the Sixman Coaches All Star game. Zavion Winegart, Gavin Duncan, and, Miguel Garcia. They were both Champions and All Stars.
