If you have a Riddell rep in your area, he/she will recondition/repaint helmets for a discounted price for teams. I believe our helmets ran about 40$ each this year.

They used to do the repainting in San Antonio, but I think they've moved that operation.
Several years ago, the Riddell people invited me to take a tour of their facilities; they were repainting Dallas Cowboy helmets. Didn't realize until then that players took their helmets from team to team...

I had an automotive guy that was going to paint our helmets, but when I contacted Riddell they said that doing that would VOID the warranty because it wouldn't meet NOCSAE standards.
