This. But additionally - 6-man ball boys are usually JH kids who may or not be handy - or even have clue about what's going on. If you as coaches want fresh balls rotated in and out - it is your responsibility to have ball persons who are readily available to the official on your sideline...

It's not just the 'younger guys' cowman. I'm a lowly rookie and have had to correct the 'old guys' mistakes when they come from 11-man to -6-man. Worked with a Division 1 this past week who hadn't called a 6-man game in 10 years. And he'll probably get a playoff game.

I think free kicks - particularly on-side kicks in 6-man - need to have the rules modified for the safety of the players. I realize football is a violent game, but on-side kicks can be deadly.
