The first game features teams with Knights and Rams as the mascot. The second has Falcons and Defenders. The third has Chargers and Jaguars. What is missing from this? Not a single team named the Eagles. Is this legal? I would have lost big money if I had placed a bet on that.

The thing that is illegal is inducements. Promises of extra financial aid, promise of starting spots etc.As NCTA is a boarding school the lines can be a bit more nebulous.

I'd simply direct them to the form to appeal their classification/district and tell them to wait for the next board meeting. Beyond that I wouldn't want to hear it. Guess that's why they pay them the big bucks.

They are going up to 6 divisions in basketball in other sports. 4A is like the old 3A. Giddings will always be a special case as there's only a limited number of kids who will be eligible to play at any time.

How about 24. Top 3 from each district make it, district champs get a bye, 2nd and 3rd place teams from different districts face off. Gets plenty of teams in and still makes it competitive.

The good part about the larger districts is it makes non-district scheduling a lot easier. Depending on your location (Houston area where 6 man is not common in the public school ranks) It can be a life saver.

It's based on the school's listed enrollment. Don't have the cutoffs listed yet. I think they would go to 16 teams in Div II at least. Perhaps they could do away with the bye week in the regular season, expand the field further, and just start a week earlier. I wouldn't want to be making these...

Not at this time. They're listing the 1st time as 11 AM. Could be 11, 3, and 7. Could be they do two on Thursday and one early Friday before 11 man games start that evening.
