Coach, I don't know all the circumstances surrounding the program, but keep your head up. You did a great job with what you had and hopefully the next coach can build on the foundation you laid.

    STRICTLY NONSENSE...........

Knibb High Football rules! Or maybe it's O'Doyle rules?

    Undefeated and No Championship

Oh, it once was possible. I can think of a 3A team back in 1963 that went 11-0-1 and didn't advance past the regional finals. The same team went 9-0-1 the next season and didn't even make the playoffs. Nowadays, though, with the addition of overtime I seriously doubt that it will ever happen...

    Highest scores of all time.

Not even close. Leveretts Chapel and Fruitvale put up 208 combined just last night (108-100, Fruitvale).

    What is a horse-collar tackle?

As an official, I can tell you that none of those 3 are the correct explanation. What DOES matter is that the horse collar is a violent change of direction to the ball carrier on an immediate tackle. If the ball carrier does not immediately go down, no horse collar should be thrown. For example...

    Illegal hits and kick off

There actually IS a website for the officials. There is a link on the official website that has the 6-man exceptions.

    Behind the line pass interference??

As long as the pass is behind the LOS, it's fair game. That's not to say that an UNR penalty can't be called.

    Helmet & Kickoff Rules

That's correct. The unsportsmanlike conduct is only for intentional removal of a helmet while still in the field of play. I apologize if I caused any confusion.

    Helmet & Kickoff Rules

Within the 5-yard restriction, yes, they can get a running start as the kicker approaches the ball. Only the kicker can be beyond the 5-yard restriction, so if you do a trick kickoff where the person who puts the ball on the tee doesn't kick it, you better make sure all your players are within...

    Helmet & Kickoff Rules

Coach Johnson, Also there is the new kickoff rule that states that all players must be within 5 yards of the kicking team's restraining line. This restriction begins when the ball is made ready for play until the ball is kicked. That means, that from the time the R blows his whistle to make the...

    Helmet & Kickoff Rules

The helmet rule states that any player whose helmet comes off during the play can only participate in the immediate action he is involved in (i.e.: finishing a block, etc.). If he continues beyond that point (even if he puts his helmet back on), he will be called for an UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT...
