I believe it is when they have come to a place were winning is not at all cost, but a well planned out and executed game plan. They play hard and hit harder, but the goal is not to beat the other team, but to play the perfect game. Great teams are looked upon by others with respect and honor. Great Christian teams take it one more step. they add Jesus to the mix and make sure all that see them play admir the character of Christ in them. That is what a true great Christian team looks like. Honor God and he will honor you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Simple. When a group of players become truly teamed up, They become a great Team.
What does it mean to be truly teamed up ? It means this group of players stay together on, and off of the field. It means that this group of players that always seem to start the season in little clicks, starts joining together to become one big gang. It means they have been around each other enough, and care about each other enough, that they can practically to a man, finish each others sentences. It means they take up for each other in any adverse condition. It means that they are willing to take the blame, rather than place the blame. You can tell when this happens because they play 100% harder for each other than they ever would a coach, parent or fan. Can they do this without Gods help ? NO.
Is winning everything ? No, but it sure beats losing.
Ive always been taught to run the race to get the prize. Winning is the prize.

I could not tell you what makes a great team. But I will say that I think a good team plays hard, smart and togrther and wins. Great teams are all of the above but they are remembered.

Losing is never fun, but I teach my boys to trust one another and play to be the best thay can be. and at the end of the night you will be able to look at your team mates and say I didnt let you down. After coaching in 6 state championship games I understand that team and heart beating as one is hard to stop. I teach that when the lights go off and the season is over do people speak of you with great admiration.

Pacman, you are so right losing is not fun. We all know that we should learn from losing. You sound like a good coach that you teach the game and all that goes with it. An old coach told me one time, that you teach during the week and coach during the game.
