Vote Today

An old joke I once heard.

A cruise ship sank and the remaining three surviors were Richard Nixon, LBJ and old Mayor Daley. They realized that there were only enough provisions on the lifeboat for one to survive and, being politicians, they felt the best way to determine the one to survive was to have a campaign and then an election, with the winner to remain alive.

The three men campaigned and then they voted.

Nixon got one vote.

LBJ got seven votes.

Old Mayor Daley got 12 votes.

How do I vote if I'm in a town but I haven't got my license changed to my new address?

Does this matter?

Help please.

Check with your county elections office. you might be able to vote in the community where you were previously registered.

Lesson ... when you move, change your address with the county elections office as well.

Don't know if it would help but you might take some current utility bills also. Might establish residency .........

Residency doesn't matter if you are not registered in the precinct of your current reside. If you have a valid voter reg. card from your old residence, the only way you can vote today is to drive to your old precinct and vote there.

Unless you plan on voting democrat. Then they'll probably let you vote three or four times.

So in a overwhelmingly republican state for the last 20 years with the legality issues over gerrymandering and voter ID one can vote democrat 3-4X??? How kind and fair of the R's to let the D's feel like they have a chance. Maybe both sides cans stop spending so much on negative ads now.

The Democrats used to vote 7-8X, so we've had lots of success in making Texas voting better.

For example, the local cemetary produced 20% fewer Democrat votes than in 2008.

I remember many years ago, the SA Express News had a good columnist. (They all stink on ice today.) Anyway, he was a guy by the name of Roddy Stinson and always was worth a read. One day, he has a picture of a cemetary in Laredo with a padlock on the gate. Seems the title (ie, ownership) to the cemetary changed hands and he raised the issue that maybe a Republican had bought the property for the votes.

Also, I remember spending some time in a Laredo watering hole ... my pal told me how much he looked forward to primary election day, because it was an opportunity to see his dear granny. Granny had been dead for 20 years, but she always showed up to vote in the Deomcrat primary.

if you can manage to vote more than once...it can happen...did you know each vote is counted, they don't discount the multiple votes: example: I sent in an absentee ballot and lets say I came back to Texas today and went to Blackwell and they didn't have the paper work from Sweetwater showing I voted already...or I talked the lady at the polling place into letting me vote...they have to count both votes because the people who tally the votes don't know which one is the fraudulant vote

EastTexas6 you still may be able to vote provisionally in a county if you are registered in another county. Just go to the poll with your ID.

Am I the the only guy on here that thinks that the national results of this so-called "election" was nothing but a sham? Romney was wrong. It's not the 47%. It's the 50% + 1 teat-sucking so-and-so that has signed the death warrant of a once great republic.

Utterly disappointed in the political acumen of 6-man nation - and begging for the input of the oar-legged incarnation of Larry The Cable guy to set me straight.

Holy Hell! Who have we become?

Have we sold our right to self-determination to the lowest bidder?

The presidency ( & all government ) has become a creation of media. We are directed by others to do what they determine is for the "greater good".
Having said that, I am trying to understand how the "political acumen" of sixman nation has disappointed. I would imagine that if a poll were conducted among participants of this forum, the outcome would be reverse of the recent national election.
