Top Teams 2015

Little Doc

11-man fan
Who are going to be the top teams next year? Also, who lost a lot of kids and seems to be rebuilding? Since the end of the season has anyone received any new kids that will help?

1st / 2nd
1-Happy / Miami
2-Valley / Spur
3-Ropes / Anton
4-Borden County / Klondike
5-Rankin / Garden City
6-Water Valley / Robert Lee
7-Ira / Hermleigh
8-Knox City / Crowell
9-Newcastle / Saint Jo
10-Gordon / May
11-Zephyr / Santa Anna
12-Rochelle / Eden
13-Blum / Aquilla
14-Abbott / Milford
15-Campbell / Savoy
16-Leverett's Chapel / Chester

WEST
Valley - Borden County will be the best 2 teams. winner of these 2 wins state.
I believe Borden County will FINALLY beat Valley in a GAME OF THE CENTURY type game.
Barclay from Valley is the REAL DEAL and THERE IS NO BETTER COACH THAN COACH TYLER, but I just think Borden County has too much talent and will REP the WEST in the state finals..

EAST
Abbott wins the east region
Gordon/May/Blum/Rochelle will all be solid but Abbott will have too much returning

Blum is in the east with Abbott. Strawn will graduate even more seniors than May. Right now I would suggest Gordon is #1 in district 10 with May second.

from looking at the ALL STATE list....

Abbott and Borden County return several all state players.

Abbott 69
vs
Borden County 63

Best 4 in the WEST
Borden County, Valley, Knox City, Water Valley

Best for in the EAST
Abbott, Blum, Gordon, May

EAST
Gordon (return RB Chase Mackey, can they build around him?)
Abbott (returns alot of all region kids but in a weak Region...can they get past Region III?)
Zephyr (return RB Bishop Norman, big and strong but can he carry them to the next level?)
Rochelle (return SB Marty Flores Rushing 195-2258--41 TD's, Passing 78-120--1222--18 TD's, between him and Loraines SB Patrick Tillis for best overall athlete in 6man...but can they play defense?)

WEST
Borden County (returns tons of talent along with coachs son and future all-stud Trace Richey...would be my preseason #1)
Valley (return stud RB Barclay 233-2275--58 TD's, will they reload as always?)
Knox City (Return both leading rushers and leading passers....will this be the year they break through?)

Crowell will not be SUPER good like last year, but they are likely to be just as solid as anyone else in the west. Just won't have any quality depth.

Savoy should be better next year..They have a good running back in Caldwell..I believe he had 64 total tds last year..The question will be on defense..They return almost all seniors.

In Division II I think Throckmorton will be a tough team again, as will Calvert. After that, it's a toss up between Guthrie (Lost Rocha and Brendle), Groom (lost 7 seniors), Richland Springs (Lost Cohn and Teele), Mount Calm (Lost Wilson) and Follett as a dark horse. If any of these teams can overcome graduation, they could make some noise. But the east is going to be one heck of a challenge for all these teams. With Throckmorton, Calvert, Richland Springs, Mount Calm and Jonesboro all coming form the east; one of these teams will be truly battle tested when the state game arrives. Should be a heck of a year.

Not sure we should be mentioned here. We have to beat the top teams to be mentioned as a top team. Thank you for your vote of confidence, but we still have more work to do to be considered a top team. Throck, Calvert and Richland Springs have plenty coming back and will be the teams to beat out of the east. Watch out for Jonesboro as well.

Dont forget about Oglesby, losing some seniors but returning two All-State players. Also is a program with a solid coach headed in the right direction. They will surprise again.

Division II

Of course you will have your traditional power-houses like T-Rock, RS, Calvert who will be in the mix....

But I think Walnut Springs, Mt. Calm, Guthrie, Motley County will be pretty good.
Will be interesting to see what teams like Blackwell and Jayton bring to the mix.

Division I.....
Will teams like Ropes, Meadow, Petersburg come back to being a contender that can make that 3 round deep run again.

Div 2 district 12 throc is always stout but I think they will be watching out for forestburg. Loosing 1 senior and 5 key players from last year being freshman.

Santa Anna will be the cinderella "IF" they hire an experienced sixman coach. Anything less will be pumpkins and mice.

Hiring a strength coach to head ur football program will benefit your Power Lifting team significantly.
Hiring the Cross Country Guru to head ur basketball program benefits the track coach.

If a veteran sixman teacher doesn't come to your campus,
Gas up the suburban and go to his neighborhood, his house.
Anything else is irresponsible and sets you up for failure.
Mediocrity will come.
Failure follows.

But, you must have the kids or all this is moot.

BE, you hit the nail on the head about the "Sixman teacher". You really have to do your homework in the hiring process, and study the records of the prospects. Has he been able to take a middle of the road group of kids and excelled with them? Has he been a flash in the pan who had one or two studs that took him deep into the playoffs? And then returned to his losing program. Is he a sticker and a stayer who is not job jumping trying to chase down that certain talent to make him shine?
If success for the kids is the priority, and not JUST making a hire, you have to put a lot of effort in your search.

I think Midland Trinity is a team to watch in Division 1 as well as Austin Hill Country. In Division 2, the sleeper team to watch out for is my former school, Summit Christian Academy. Waco Live Oak will also be a heavy favorite. In Division 3, Freddy, no other words need to be said.
