Top players in school history

MA1984

11-man fan
We always hear about the greatest players of all time across the board but I am asking who are the top 10 players of all time for your favorite schools or the school you attended. I am interested to see if we can get a top ten from every school.

And I left a lot of great off... Milford has just had too many good players.

This is true. For my money #1 for Milford is Stanley Cook
Earl Daniels and Henry Coleman have to be on your top 10 Milford list

5. Norman Singleton (6-Man Player of the Decade Waco Tribune)

Easily, Jamie not even top 5 in his family.
1. Stanley Cook
2. Chris Pendleton
3. Kinta Cook
4. Ricky Cook
5. Keith Washington Jr.
Had Jamie stayed healthy he easily could be on MY list and that would have brought Jamar Davis into the discussion since they are in the same class.

Championships do add weight, if Ta’Ron ends the 38 year championship drought in Milford he has to be top 3, if not 1.
Facts!!! I could put a lot of people on the list but playoff success and championships is my measuring stick.

I would like to see a RS person make their list, but here is mine in order!
JD Smith (11man years played in the NFL)
TE
Jared Hicks
Hutton Lusty
Jordan Hicks
Wiley Cummings
Mark Williams
Walker Tippie

You can’t forget Dan Fowler. The best of the Fowler clan

He might not be top 5 in the family but he is top 10 in the
School history.

I have to go back over 30 years to give a list from my alma mater. Grady has only had one team that was great enough to make the State Championship and they ended up getting bounced from the playoffs in the bi-district round by the Cotton Center team that won the State Championship in 1974. Score was 32-28. It is important to remember that in 1974 only they district champions made the playoffs. And, Cotton Center and Grady were ranked #1 and #2 in the state at the time they played.

1. Ronald Chee (He was Native Indian and the fastest football player I have ever seen on a football field)
2. Brad Tunnell- QB & HB
3. Ronald Key (nicest guy in the world off the field and he would rip your head off on the field)
4. Matt McClure (best OLB I think Grady has ever had)
5. Bobby Vining-(1987 QB, had a shotgun arm)
6. Jack Vining (1982 QB, better at running the ball but nowhere near the arm strength of his younger brother)
7. Fred Garza (best FB and K they ever had, kicked a 51 yard FG against McCaulley in 1986 and could drop kick the hell out of a football too)
8. Stacy Stribling- (was a beast at C for the 1985-1986 teams)
9. Luis Gonzales- (fantastic CB)
10. Terry Deatherage- (6’3” 225 DL and ran a 4.7 40, would have been a D1 or D2 prospect had he played 11 man football in a larger town)

I know I’ve missed some other great players that will be brought up if there are any other Grady fans on here but I did my best to look at offense, defense, and the team they played for.

!974, or !978?? In 1974, your record was 1-7, and you were in an 8 man district.
