Lakes Aquilla, Waco, & Whitney are all rising. Aquilla is almost full.

I think it would take rains of biblical proportions to make a dent in Lake Brownwood................Sad looking. Know a guy that just bought a lot on the lake. They traded the boat for a 4-wheeler.................

We were 7ft low,,rising now,,still -5 ft.

Cedar Creek Lake is not on the Trinity River shed,Thank God.

However the pig blood you speak of is just south of the Trinity
in Dallas,,it should be good and flushed by now...,chum for catfish

The dam at Spence is defective. That lake will never be allowed to fill up much more than 1/3 again. This is a rumor I was told 15 years ago. That's why most of the development around the lake died about then too.

I't actually wonderful to have muddy spots outside again. Reports in Stephenville were 5 1/2 to + 6". Bosque ran out of banks for a day. Came by the North end of Lake Buchanan in late December. In the middle of about a mile wide dried up mud flat the Colorado was running, about a foot deep, 10-12 wide.

The North end? Around Tow? Or were you on 29? The Colorado is running a little better now. Buchanan will take a lot of filling up before it gets back to normal.
We were actually pretty lucky; our stretch of the river maintained itself pretty well. If you go to Google Maps and look at the Colorado River around Bend, follow the river back upstream you will find the "Glory Hole". It always has water due to several springs flowing into it. Good fishing too. My brother is building a cabin near there.

Tow it twas. Had never been to that area. Fished the river as a kid South of bend. Ran a trot line across the river and waded to check it. Waist to chest deep on a man. I remember being pulled up by the hair by my uncle who was checking the line as I was about to float into it while swimming.

I have worked on both sides of the river on several ranches; the Barnes Keith, Goodrich and Jackson Ranches. That is some of the prettiest country you'll ever see. Historic also... one place on the Goodrich is called the Tanyard. Confederate soldiers used the area as a shipping point and tanned hides there. There are some remains of loading docks still visible. At least they were 30+ years ago.

I used to go deer hunting in that area back in the 80's. It is pretty country.

Whitney & Aquilla are both above conservation level and are still on the rise. The catfishing on Aquilla is getting good.
