Been some talk of Coach Maddox on another thread. I decided it was time to release a few snippets of video that Oneday and myself filmed this past December with the legendary coach. We had a great day with him talking about his championship teams, among other things and this is just a taste of that conversation.... His son Ricky was there for part of the time as well.

This is classic. I learned more football sitting in a room at Holiday Inn listening to Roddy Maddox, Graham Hart, and others talk just like this for hours. Wow, hope there is more, would love to see it all.

I agree, please give us more. Around people like this you just shut up and listen. Of course someone has to get them started. Thanks for doing that and then sharing.

When I was in HS at Strawn 1977-80 FB seasons our first scrimmage every year was Cherokee. We had some excellent teams and so did they. Can you image Roddy Maddox and Nelson Campbell. Neither wanted to end on a bad note so we often scrimmaged for about 3 hours. Take into account we usually had only about 12 players. It was tough be fun and both teams came out ready for the season.

I played on the 73 team and 74 team and today I watch games and think back, these kids could stay on the field with us today. Yes the offence was good but our defense was even better.
