Richland Springs VS Calvert

That's what a winning tradition does for a program. Those freshmen want to be like those teams before them and know what it takes to win. With a little talent and continued hard work, they will get there. I hope they continue the tradition.

Miracles you must not have watched them play this year. If not for a couple of injuries in the may game they might be undefeated.

I think Richland Springs can win it all but dont make excuses for May beating them on there home field. The score was closer than it should have been. When yall scored on the last play of the game against backups. I do think that loss lit a fire in RS though and they are my pick to make it to the finals in DII

RS has always had a way to spring right back into the game. Coaches time outs and locker room talks gets the boys going. I'm sure these freshmen want this championship as much as the other teams before them wanted it. I pray for no injuries, a fair game, win or lose, those are all good kids.

RS has two really good players. If one goes down for whatever reason, unless they have a huge lead, you can put a fork in them. They will be done. In the May and RS game, both teams were dealing with cramps in the fourth quarter. May had/has much better depth.

I've seen Calvert in person once this year and have watched their film from several games, I have not seen RS play. I will say, Calvert is a good football team. They are extremely physical and run the ball well. I'm not huge fan of their offense, but they seem to be successful with it. I would not be surprised to see them run away with this one.

My opinion and thoughts.

I agree centex fan. Calvert defense really gets to the ball. Offensively, Calvert looks like they just make it up on the bus ride over, but it works. I havent seen RS, but Calvert is loaded. Too much experience on the Calvert side of the ball. Calvert wins. Good luck to both teams!

Blue Bird, I think you could say that about most sixman teams. I mean where would Follett be without Dakota Woods? RS had three boys make 1st team All-District on offense and defense. They also had 4 other boys who were 2nd team All-District on offense. Not too bad considering District 13 is a pretty darn good offensive district. One more point and then I'll shut up. The Coyotes were ranked ahead of Calvert until last week when the Trojans knocked off Jonesboro so I don't really think it's gonna take a miracle for RS to pull this one off. I think it's the game of the week ! Go Coyotes Go !!

If I am not mistaken, it is against the rules to release All-District Awards before the playoff teams from your district, are out of the playoffs. The DEC may want to look into this.

Hated missing this game. Weather was the determining factor. Can someone enlighten me on some of the details? Looks like Calvert got their offense going putting up 43. Congrats goes out to RS. Advancing to the 2nd round with such a young group, speaks volumes.
