Newbie here.

Is positioning in either the UIL Div I or II based on school enrollment?

Do the two divisions ever do a playoff game?

Thanks. Been reading for a year. This is my first post.

D1 and D2 schools can and do schedule each other in non-district games. But they never meet in the playoffs. enrollment determines where your school is placed and the UIL does that every two years.

I will look for the official methods of counting students and try to post it.

from the UIL - instruction;

http://www.uiltexas.org/files/alignments/RR_Packet.pdf

Six-man Football: Schools with an enrollment of 99.9 or lower may choose to participate in six-man football or
may opt to play eleven-man football but remain in the smaller division for basketball and spring meet. Schools
currently participating in six-man football may submit enrollment figures by any one of the following combinations
of grades: grades 9, 10, 11 and 12; grades 8, 9, 10 and 11; grades 7, 8, 9 and 10; or grades 9 and 10 doubled.

I thought they came up with those numbers based on voodoo rituals and the evisceration of a lawyer to see what his entrails said.

Many a lawyer should be eviscerated and not only for prognostication of 6-man football numbers. Some just for fun a few for spite.
