Projected finishes

I have just run off my handy-dandy UIL bracket for Conference 1A Division 2. Would any of you guys care to make an educated prediction on some of these district races. I could then start to PENCIL in possible playoff matches that would be worth watching.

Next thing you know,
you'll be doing rankings!
Ooooooo.......can't wait!

Sure, bring on the boys and the girls. I probably won't make a girls playoff game, but there might be someone reading this who will.

I couldn't and wouldn't take the heat for ranking anyone, football or basketball, more power to those who can.

Dogface, I have heard that Graford could very well be the team to beat in Region 2. You might have seen them play and have a comment.

Gonna be tough because I can't even keep up with my own district.

My WAG for District 13 is
1. Crowell
2. Knox City
3. Northside

Anybody know anything on Districts 14 or 15? Its like they play in a different world. Very little media coverage.
Best I have come up with for D-15,
1. May
2. Gorman
3. Baird

My guess for D-16 will be,
1. Grafford I have also heard they are strong this year!!
2. Lipan Usually out 1st in this district. Ask me how I know.
3. Strawn

The rest will have to wait till regional quarterfinals. One game at a time!! ;-)

Edited to adjust 3rd out in D-13 at current standings.

If Grady Wins the net two vs Dawson and Loop, they will be district champs no matter what happens with the final game at Borden County. Should if all things go as they are heading:

1. Grady
2. Sands
3. O'Donnell or Borden County!

O'Donnell lost a key starter and could slip up this week!

If Gorman and May win out, they will start the playoffs with themselves for 1 and 2. Rising Star is sitting at the 3 spot right now.

According to Motley's district records. Gustine and Priddy are heading for a possible tie for first in their district.

Zephyr is looking like a shoo-in for first in their district. Second and third may be harder to make a call on.

District 15 girls looks like Baird is leading the pack with Gorman and Rising Star following in that order. All three teams look solid to me and could have some movement up or down before the year is out.

A tie for district is never pretty. A coin flip doesnt do the kids any justice and district playoff games you run the risk of injury. Sometimes its best for the better team to come out second. Thats the playoffs I guess!!!

Whoever comes out second in D-15 will be in for a hard run out the gate. Throck would be second round then Grafford around the corner. The winner of 15 gets a bye first round then should face a solid Crowell team if my Cats win out. If not they meet Lipan in quarterfinals.

Best of luck to everyone!!

Rumors, facts and then more rumors! As I understand the situation in D16, Graford and Lipan are now tied for first. They would rather flip that coin than play again. Whomever wins the coin toss will choose to go into the playoff as the second place team. Both consider the lower half of the regional bracket as the easier route to the regional finals. Earlier this year Graford lost to Throckmorton. Both would rather see Throckmorton in the regional finals than the second round...maybe its the third round. Does this make Throckmorton the team to beat in region 2?

Where have I heard this before?!!!

D26-A2 Girl's playoffs 1st round. DC Evant will have a first round bye.
R Priddy will play D25 T Lingleville.
T Jonesboro will play D25 R Huckabay.

The D16 coin toss ended with Lipan winning the toss and choosing to go into the playoffs as the second place team. D14 had Throckmorton winning, then Aspermont and Woodson. D15 had Rising Star in the 3 spot. Gorman and May are going to play for first friday night in Cross Plains at 8PM. Gorman has the quickest guard that I have seen in a while. In fact, their whole team is quicker than average, would love to see the type sixman team that they could field.

If they follow Nazareth's example, they will wait until all their fast quick guys have graduated.

Thanks Blue Bird!!!

If/when you hear the outcome of D15 please pass that info along.

When my Cats get past Lipan we could end up with Gorman or May next round.

Darn Lipan!! ;-)
