Online Tickets

Six-man pro
So last week, Comanche ISD was hosting the Zephyr/Richland Springs game, and required tickets to be purchased online not at the gate, not the first time this happened as Dublin ISD did the same a few years back, but as many people who did purchase online, there were some who did not and had to scan the barcode at the gate.

So my question is what is everyone’s opinion about buying tickets for a playoff game online? Especially for a sixman game.

Convenient and smart use of today’s technology. Who on this planet above 10 years old doesn’t have a smart phone? Super easy, the gracious neutral host site doesn’t have to provide staffing for collecting and handling the cash. Can dedicate their resources to operating the concession stand that is more important. Gotta have that coffee and hot chocolate this time of year. ;)

Personally, I prefer paying in person. If something comes up and I don't make the game I'm not out the expense. Of course, everyone wants to pay that convenience fee they add on to the online purchase. If some of you high rollers want to front me the ticket price I will consider changing my stance on this issue. Everyone will have to look away from their smart phone to read this post, probably won't happen. Lol

That’s great and all but there should still be a option for people that show up with cash only I know a few people that buying tickets online is very difficult for them.

I had no problem getting tickets online provided the set up is kept simple but prefer to pay at the gate. The only issue I see is that unless you follow your school’s booster on social media or are a parent of a football player or cheerleader you’re not going to know nothing about it, which happened to me a couple of years back at Dublin for a playoff game, thankfully there were spare tickets purchased by someone who wasn’t going to be at the game otherwise I would have driven all that way for nothing

I don't and will not have a smart phone. I am tired of your analogy of smart phone users.

Host site has to provide staffing for reading the online tickets.
Their just not collecting and handling the cash.

Good for you not having a smart phone. I’m sure your example will eventually lead to everyone giving up their phones as well. Tired of my analogy? It was an opinion and last time I checked this whole dang forum was for discussion. And I don’t give a flying what your tired of. Now others have made some good points but your just being an ass. Your team lose already?

Coming in hot there @SimplyPut i get your opinion but you also have to realize it’s not always about not having a smart phone, I know several parents of players that bank cards and credit cards are not something they have. What they do have is cash and they would still like to see their kid play, I watched this exact scenario play out last year at a basketball game and if I hadn’t overheard them being turned away and paid for them myself through my phone they wouldn’t have been allowed in. So you can have your opinion but that is a bad take on this issue my friend.

I wasn’t implying it was all about a smart phone. That was said as an example and kinda jokingly which is why I added who on the planet above 10 doesn’t have one. It could be a tablet, laptop, pc, etc.. and everything has been headed that direction for years. Finding out at the gate you had to have prepaid or do it there in a rush would absolutely stink. Plus the convenience fee and the fact some aren’t tech savvy. All good points that made me agree the old fashioned way is better. I would prefer it myself. Pay my entry and go watch the ball game. No big deal.

The other part “coming in hot” yep I’m guilty and would respond the same all over again.

This above did hit a nerve. Tired of my analogy of smart phone users? WTH

Lots of back and forth on this topic. It's my understanding that as long as cash money is legal tender, and it is, the ticket people have to accept it. Not everyone is into credit or debit cards. The Texas State Attorney's office would probably agree. Seems like no one has challenged the legality of forcing people to pay via computer or smart phone.

Usually the people who have issues getting credit/debit cards have a hard time getting a attorney to fight the case. It’s very sad that people who get their rules to control the gate can’t have even a smidgen of wiggle room for people that have issues getting their tickets online. Seriously why not just have one person at the gate with a cash box and say if nothing else they take cash most of the major stock shows have a setup like this (one window for cash customer), the majority of people will use the online system it’s not like you have to have 40 people working the gates.
