New field in Veribest

I have no facts on Veribest's new field. I do not believe that it will be turf, apparently they have the smallest crowds and gate in the area, so do not figure they can pay for it. Track, who knows.

I do hope the new field has a fence around it. The old one was kind of strange as you would look up and a parent would almost be in the huddle. Ha

I thought that was strange myself when we played there this year. Glad they are getting a new field, worst in the area

Flatter than a flitter around there. No wind farms. A few broke farmers is all.
I talked to a couple of farmers here that have leased their land to someone else & gotten jobs. The drought nearly bankrupted them.

The Wild Wildcat is probably right about the field, it wasn't much to speak of. The thing that struck me the most, besides being close enough to hear the coaches talking, was the fact that there was no crown whatsoever to the field. Absolutely flat - as if it had been part of a cotton field prior to that. What's that you say? Oh, that makes sense then.

1. I am pretty sure the field at Veribest was an old cotton field.

2. It doubled as a baseball field originally (thats 1996-99 when I played)

3. The smell from the rendering plant down the road...or a stock yard one...was always present (Veribest consider a dome...could become the Field of Dreams for Six-Man!)

4. The field was kind of far off from the school...we had to change at the school then take a bus to the field and once we 45ed them, get back on the bus in uniform and drive back to the school.

5. Puns are great in every respect! Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana.
