Can't afford the other one......

I feel compelled to break my radio silence for this one. I will own an Apple Watch, or iWatch, or whatever they call it. I watched the video for it like 5 times. Each time drooling more than the time before.

I don't even like watches. But once a mac-bot, always a mac-bot.

You going for the Granny Smith or Golden Delicious? ..........
Good to see you back.......... Be aware, there are always pretenders for the crown...........

I will too, eventually...

Currently I own two Pebbles. I had not worn a watch for a few years, but wanted a Pebble to run with and finally broke down and bought one. I really like the fact my phone NEVER has the ringer on now. As we get older, I can't hear my phone ring anyways and most certainly not when I get a text. For those reasons I ordered a Pebble Steel last week and love it. I can run with my first one and then wear the other to work... and my ringer is never on.

My first one has a fake carbon steel wrap on it and ppl think it is real and wonder wear I got it...

What would send me into a nerd coma would be if the iWatch was it's own phone, and came with a blue tooth earpiece.

They'll probably come out with it three days after I buy the original iWatch.

As someone who has had a smartwatch for a few months now, some of the apps and functionality they are putting into the iWatch make for good tv but are virtually worthless.

1. something very simple -- the layout of the watch. I am left handed, thus wearing the watch on my right wrist. that fancy little dial will be a pain in the arse to use since it is located on the right hand side of the watch.

2. drawing/texting/writing -- seriously, have you tried to do any of this on your phone? It sucks. How will this be possible with a 1" by 1" screen with my fingers?

3. the auto response natural language processing they showed off. This one is comical. Have you ever tried to use Siri, let alone spell check? This will be hilarious.

all of this being said, I will still buy one by next summer.

One design concepts that stands out:
quick change bands. That is awesome. If I run with my watch, I want to switch out the band and be able to wear it to work without it being soaking wet. simple, yet smart

Also, the visuals will be great.

I also assume there will be plenty of apps that are useful and functional, just not any of the things they showed in the video

Been thinking about one of the new Apple watches, but after Granger's post, I think I will just stick with Timex. I'm having enough trouble with this new phone. Simple is good!

C'mon, Granger. You can send your wife a heart, man A heart - or your heart rate - or both. As a northpaw, i think the little winder-knob-controller thingy will work absolutely perfect for me. That's like saying you hate golf because all the clubs are backwards. Note: there are plenty of reasons to hate golf other than the clubs being backwards.

I wonder how much the extra bands are gonna cost for the bargain basement version. No way I'm shelling out for a gold one.

The clubs are backwards. Heck, when I was a kid, my dad made me play golf right-handed b/c there were no clubs for me to use. The fact that it was a natural backhand might've helped me a bit. Thank goodness they made left-handed baseball bats...

Yes, some of those stupid little features (like drawing a heart) only work if the person you are sending it to ALSO has the iWatch AND is wearing it. Not too often.

I am guessing the extra bands will also be available third party, which will help with the price
