My Biggest Apologies

Some of you may have saw me at the RS-May game. It was the first RS game I have caught since 2010. On another topic, I had dissed RS pretty harshly.

And at the game, when the buzzer sounded, I expected to feel some sort of accomplishment that RS had finally lost. But when I looked at the kids and the fans, I felt pity.

Football is this towns lifeblood. And I am sorry for being such an @sshole to all of you on here. Your kids really felt the blow of the loss it seemed, and for that, I am sorry.

We often forget as parents and fans, its a 16 year old kid out there. We love to cheer for our team and call these players by name. But, recall the stress of your glory days. Lets not forget our priorities.

I am sorry Richland, that I did.

We also need to remember it is just a game....too many times we relate success in football to success in life...so many reach their pinnacle in fb and are failures in life after hs.

No words spoken on this board have ever been more true or ring so close to home. I just gave a similar speech to my boys regarding this very issue.

So with that in mind....

Kids, enjoy your football career. In all likelyhood, it will be the only one you have and you will cherish it forever. When you have sons of your own, you will be able to live it again vicariously through them to some degree. I know that I have and I have loved every down of it.
Don't get so wrapped up in it that you forget who YOU are and what YOUR goals are.
