Milford #1?

Ok, let me see if I can get this right. Milford beat Abbott, Abbott beat Dallas Covenant, Dallas Covenant beat Throckmorton, correct! So that puts Milford #1, right? Oh yea, Milford beat Oakwood! They also beat Zephyr! They have faced 3 Top 10 teams and beat them, so I believe they should be in the top spot, they deserve it.
 
I dont think you can really compare games.. now if they beat throckmorton head to head, then you could make a strong case for it, but I doubt theyre number one until rs gets dethroned, if that happens.
 
They might deserve #1, but after seeing the Covenant/Throck game, I can tell you that there is not a team in the state that would intimidate Covenant right now. They really have it all. They are well coached, in superb condition (wore Throck out in the 4th quarter by scoring 24 points with 5 minutes left), the are very aggressive and very, very fast. They were very nervous and tight at the beginning of the Abbott game and spotted them 18 point in like the first 5 minutes. It looked like they did not even belong on the field with Abbott, then they got their swagger and made a game of it to lose by 10 (I think). Don't get me wrong, if you beat Abbott, you beat a REALLY good team.
 
Can't play the score game. Every football game is different. You aren't the first to think this way and I know it makes sense in your head but you can't compare that way. You can if this or if that but truth be known, IF worms had machine guns, birds wouldn't mess with em. Good luck to Milford this year. Where is Mr. Essary?
 
It will be interesting to see where Granger's toy puts Milford -- part of the fun is all of the wacky speculation. I have seen Milford play this year and really like the way they play - good luck to all

Ira has not been the same team in week 1 & week 2 as they were the first game of the season but we will see if they continue to play in sync with a very improved GC team this week. GC and Ira have a great history of games so should be a good one.
 
I agree the ranking should be pretty interesting this week, I don't think Milford had enough of a rating score before to go to numer one, but I could be wrong. WV beat a top ranked RL team and RS kept their spread, and then you have Ira who performed a shutout on a good Ropes team. BC should be moving on up by man-handling Rankin. Very interesting week
 
Milford is a very good team, and I pull for them when they play anyone other than Aquilla. But they still haven't proven themselves worthy of the #1 spot.

And don't forget Valley- they are right there with everyone.
 
And what does Milford have to do to be worthy of the #1 spot?.... They have knocked off 3 of the Div I top 10's. Richland Springs hasnt played any of the above. But to our boys it really doesnt matter all that matters it to keep hitting that field playing like you want to win. It is ok because we are playing one game at a time.... And hopefully at the end of the season playoffs included they will get that #1 spot.Because right now being #1,2,3,4 or 5 doesnt amount to a hill of beans.... Get ready boys its gonna be a goooooddddd seasons....
 
Milford has proven themselves... Nobody should need anymore proof. I also think that Dallas Covenent shouldn't be that hi ranked. Throckmorton in my opinion had a bad night... Plus! Milford has the lineup to go super deep in the playoffs this year.

Aquilla to Milford? Would never be done. Milford is alot of homegrown boys. A few kids from Italy though. It's just up the road. I am from about 30 minutes away and can assure you that particular move wouldn't happen
 
You are right about that it would be wonderful to win state. But we are a long way from that. But Aquilla is about 40miles from us give or take. And we have no boys from Italy that are on our team. Most of these young men have played together since peewee league. Aquilla and Milford just have mutual respect for each other.
