Looking to Move to 6 man

My family and I are searching for a small town to raise our kids and plant our roots for while. I have 5 years coaching experience ranging from middle school thru head varsity basketball experience, middle thru varisty football experience, and lots of track as well. Teaching field is currently Secondary PE. Willing to relocate. I have always coached 11 man football and have zero 6 man experience, but it looks like it would be awesome and I am always looking to learn. If you are interested, please shoot me a message and I can send a resume and we can talk. Thanks very much!

Look at all the open jobs, fling them your resume and see what happens. Throckie hired them one with no 6man experience, so one of the others could be right down your alley. Its a good game and think you would like the "community".

Thanks Drifter for the information!! I dont know enough about the 6 man game to be qualified as a head guy, yet! I know my 11 man stuff well though and in the end I assume its all about blocking and tackling...
Now, basketball would be a different story since there are no rules amended. Varsity head coaching experience...play-off experience..and was voted Coach of the year in the area of Texas I previously coached. Am currently secondary Pe certified, but would be willing to take the SS composite or History or some other as well.
It seems that most 6 man ball is played in north texas/panhandle...is it played much south of I-20? The furthest south I have seen would probably be Prairie Lea, TX. Thanks for any info or contact info.!!

The only problem you might run into in seeking an assistant job if you have a number of years experience. A lot of small schools are pretty tight in the money department and they can hire rookies right out of college for assistants and do not have to pay them like an experienced coach.
There are some jobs out there with good head coaches who could make the adjustment very quickly.

Also be prepared to wear a lot of different hats.

Good Luck

I am still looking for the right opportunity. If you have a vacancy, please do send me a message. I am seeing the jobs on THSCA and on this website as well...thanks for looking out for me.

if you are looking to relocate then amarillo arbor christian might be a good spot. they are still looking for a head coach.

As far as not ready to take on the 6man world as a hc just take 5 off the field and have fun.
