Jonesboro

What happened? i looked them up. they were 2-8 just 2 years ago, and still not any better if you go a few years back. Then all of the sudden they went 11-1. and this year their ranked #3 in D2 and are 3-0. Was it new players to their roster? or maybe different coaches? Or maybe coaching techniques? Just curious.

Well give coach Gallegos and his program at least part of the credit and the players for buying into it, conditioning, dedication etc. Not to bust any bubbles but beyond that look at their schedule. The only teams they reallly rolled over last year were rolled over by a lot of people. To be honest unless they start 45'N + by 1/2 time on a regular basis the rest of the season I'd be suprised if their ranking doesn't drop based simply on strength of schedule. They playoff's will be telling. They were last year. RS 58 JB Zip.

There schedule is little different than it was 2 years ago? and its really not a shame to get 45ed by richland springs. lets be real. but it seems the only teams in D2 that could beat Jonesboro would be Montly county or Richland springs, well defiantly Richland springs. i mean i went and watched them. they got the quickness, strength, and heart to go far i think.

No doubt the teaching
has improved in J-boro
since they got a man from,

STRAWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Geeeeeeeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(He can also teach all the hard classes
which most coaches shy away from)!

*It might/would be interesting to know
how many so-called experienced head coaches
only teach a "roll-out-the-ball" type of PE class.

Hey now, hey now...some of us actually bounce the balls out...I even occasionally throw them as high as I can, and only allow them to play with the ones that are caught (learned that in a workshop)...LOL

Well since you asked. Coach Lee the is the principal / AD. Working on his superintendent certification.
Coach Dawson is the High School Math teacher.
Coach P is the Certified Special Ed. teacher.
Actually the only PE class they "teach" is Althlecits.
The PE teacher is Coach Crabb. Who coaches Girls basketball. And does a fine job at it.

Maybe I was looking @ Dogface's post all wrong, but I took it as him giving props(& well deserved props I might add) to the fine Coaching/Teaching Staff @ Strawn and it's alumni.

$2 you are correct!
Don't have a clue what Crawdady et al
is implying?
Some people resort to crude and rude
instead of just a simple "I disagree"
or "What's up with that"?
So basically,
the supposed character traits
they find so displeasing in others
are the same ones they display.
Unfortunate, yet all too common.

I liked what catscratch said.
That was funny!!!

We have discussed,
at other times,
how several particular schools
have had their players go on
to be quality coaches at other small schools.
Strawn, Jayton, among others.
So therefore,
I attributed a major part of J-boros recent success
to the fact they had a quality teacher/coach
who in fact,
is from Strawn.
I said nothing about the current coaches
in Strawn.
Yet, I have met the Principal.
SHE isn't Lee.

I don't know how I could have made myself any clearer.
Some people only see what they want to see.
