Where did you come up with that Mullin score? They wouldn't even play this week.

In looking over scores at some point I clicked on last weeks finals. Right score, wrong week.

Just wondering. Is anyone willing to enlighten us on what the controversial play was that caused the ejection?
Mackey was one of three defenders that took the ball carrier down hard right on the Gordon sideline. As he was getting up, he used the Lingleville player's helmet to push himself up. I watched the play about 15' in front of me while standing at the fence. The officials had already called several "close" penalties on Gordon.
The play prior to the ejection was a long pass that was slightly overthrown, the Gordon defender gave the receiver a push in the back as the ball went sailing overhead, sending him sprawling. I really expected a flag and made the comment on our broadcast that the Gordon players had best keep their hands to themselves.
The 15 yard Unsportsmanlike Conduct penalty on Mackey did not surprise me when the flag was thrown. My view of the play made me think there was some intent on Mackey's part to show he was exerting his will on them. The officials' conduct early made clear that Gordon was not going to be allowed to run roughshod over Lingleville. I was staggered that he was ejected based on the ticky-tack nature of the penalty on Mackey's not-overt action.

Straight up truth....I did not read the article and had not seen the article's reference to "run roughshod" over Lingleville prior to using it in my comment above....I honestly thought that about the officials during the game....

Thanks. Using someone's head to get up is not real cool. If you thought there was intent to inflict his will as an experienced observer, I don't know what else to say. Except, I wasn't there and should not judge.

It wasn't like he hit the helmet with his hand. And there wasn't really force behind the movement. And I really don't believe it was an overt act. But it was a hand on the helmet, and that is not cool.
Lingleville really took the game to them early and this occurred early in the 2nd. I tend to think there was some frustration involved. When you're as good a player as he is and you haven't been able to get on the field due to injury....frustration can be a horrible enemy.....
