I fully expect there to be some major changes in the first few weeks. The computer program that I wrote uses last years final rankings (mine, not the Guru's), returning starters, letterman, and extra consideration to returning all state/region players. It also looks at a coaches career w/l record, how long he has been with a school. What it does NOT factor in are unknown variables such as freshman impact players, move ins, injuries, how well a team works together, whether a coach puts players in the right positions, and the all important, unmeasurable heart and desire of the players. it is merely a starting point because if you start everyone with a zero rating, it would take till week 8 to get everyone close to where they should be.
 
I think you need to switch Meadow and Valley...

Valley played T-Rock 3-5 minus a few key players due to injury.....
Meadow didn't fare well vs Spur and Petersburg....
YES I KNOW ITS A SCRIMMAGE, but Meadow scored 1x in 40 plays vs Spur....

Yes Meadow will be good once they find their nitch, but Valley is better than Meadow


Valley will be top 4 remaining when it's all said and done

I think that there are a couple things out of whack, but they will right themselves when game scores start coming in. see my first reply on this thread. Besides, I ain't changing nuttin based on a scrimmage.

Settle down it was a scrimmage. Lots of subbing and evaluating players for positions. Ira is a top 3 ranked team no matter how you look at it and I have never based a teams outcome on a scrimmage that's insane. We will all know a little more after week 0 where everyone stands, that's why they are called PRESEASON rankings. I do see SC going undefeated into district play due to their regular schedule. Ira has a slightly tougher schedule in my opinion and are a top contender for post season.

I concur with ryry, Ira will be there come playoff time and I don't think anyone is really looking forward to playing them. I'll keep my mouth shut about Sterling City other than to say they'll be tough and we'll see what happens on 9 November.

Pete, The school that really caught my eye is Paint Rock in the top twenty of D I. From everything that I have read, Sterling City should be the #2 team in that district.

good catch - seems that sterling city didn't update so they didn't make the list - Ill go back and manually update them and try to figure out where the disconnect happened.

hard to get ranked if your power level is 0

That is a good top 20 to start off with. But I think Spur is a sleeper team that should break into that within the first few weeks of play. Good luck to all of the teams this season.

Weren't you at Living Stones last year with Coach Sanders.
Are you still there or did you move on.

As for your spur pick, I don't see that happening. Their schedule is pretty solid.

Wellman Union.... beats spur in a close one I believe (0-1). Going on grangers toy on this one
Ropes.... beats spur as well, not close (0-2)
Crowell.... is pretty good, I think spur/crowell went 82-83 last year... Crowell returns more... (0-3)
Guthrie... Spur should get their 1st win.... (1-3)
Rotan.... I think Rotan will have all the 11man kinks worked out.... Rotan over spur (1-4)
Heading into district....
Petersburg..... returns ALOT of key individuals..... 1-5/0-1
Aspermont.... finished 9-2 last yr, .... I think spur gets this one 2-5/0-1
Valley.... will be district champs.... they will roll spur 2-6/0-2
Kress... spur wins this one in a shoot out..... 3-6/1-2
Paducah.... beats spur as well.... 3-7/1-3

I see this for spur ... Don't see them making the top 20 this yr
