Grady Shields

Grady Shields (Newcastle High School) competed in his first collegiate meet this weekend for Texas Lutheran University. He won the long jump from a short approach (12 steps) with a jump of 21'5 and won the High Jump with a jump of 6'6 breaking the school, meet and stadium record in the process. Starting at those numbers big things should happen for this young man this year.

Grady (Newcastle) competed in the SCAC Championships this weekend for TLU. He was all conference in both the high jump and long jump collecting 2nd in both. He jumped 6-5 1/2 in high jump and 23-1 in long jump that ranks him in the top 30 nationally.
