Div II bracket

Bada bing, bada bump, again. Anyone else care to speculate/take a blind stab in the dark on who will be in the Regional Quarterfinal games? MY guesses:
RI - Follett vs Motley Co.
RII - Balmorhea vs Grandfalls-Royalty
RIII - Apermont vs Strawn
RIV - Richland Springs vs Milford.

Interesting to note, # 1 RS gets lowest ranked team in the playoffs (#48) in the 1st round.
At 7 & 10 Follett/Groom in round 1 is a hard call. Same with Welch Dawson/Balmorhea at 12 & 13, Coach Jones has already worked magic, again, hard to go against him here. Potential round 2 Robert Lee & Grandfalls at 6 & 5 - another hard call. Chillicothe-Jayton and Cherokee-Blanket in round I I'm not too sure about.

Looks like Strawn will have to beat Aspermont to advance to play Richland Springs. I have no idea how good Aspermont is, does anyone have an educated guess on Aspermont??

Still lots of football to be played before the Quarterfinal games. And if Strawn is fortunate enough through good play to make it to the quarterfinals, this is how I see it. Strawn vs. Aspermont would be a great game. Aspermont and Strawn are both ranked in the top ten. Aspermont has played 2 teams that have a winning record and those teams have combined for 32 wins. Strawn has played 5 teams that have a winnning record and those teams have combined for 45 wins. The only common opponent is Leuders. Strawn and Aspermont demolished Leuders. Strawn has lost one game to their rival Gordon. And anyone who has been fortunate enough to play in that rivalry or seen those games know that you cannot rate anything from that game. Both times Strawn won State, they lost to Gordon. Anyway, that is another subject for another thread. Anyway, I think it wouldbe a great game and I hope we get the opportunity to see that game. both teams can score and score in bunches.

Following your logic that should put

Grandfalls vs Motley Co.

Milford vs Strawn

in the simi's is that correct?

Maybe, probably not. Not sure how much logic I used, maybe fuzzy logic. Like I said a stab in the dark. Just going by ranking in say RI you've got the 7/10 Follett/Groom most likely facing #8 MC. It's the playoff's - ranking shmanking. In II by ranking again you probably get #6 Robert Lee vs # 5 Grandfalls 1st next week with 12 Dawson and 13 Balmorhea lurking (Jones is a proven commodity). So, MC/Follett/Groom vs Grandfalls/RL/(Dawson/Balmorhea) from the West.
In III likely #4 Aspermont or #9 Strawn. Some might say other than Jayton who has undefeated Aspermont played that is even in the top 20. Granted they have put the hurt on everybody they played, none but Jayton had a decent year. Some might say the same of Strawn. W Springs is a DI playoff team at 6-4 they 45'd. Gordon beat them (by 2 points). Sidney was undefeated and they 45'd them, but, who had Sidney played? I've seen (and listened to) Strawn multiple times. As I lived ther a few years I'm prejudiced.
In IV 1-RS vs 3-JB then winner vs 2-Milford. ABC easy as 123 (ha, ha). So in the East -Strawn/Aspermont vs 1,2 or 3.
All this hard thinking is giving me a headache. If somebody else is going to be # 1 in the end, somebody has to beat # 1.
Thank the Lord they play the game on the field and this ain't fantasy football.

I think you are probably right on on your picks. Coach Jones I think will lead his team through the next several games. He is a good coach with some good young men playing for him. Grandfalls team speed cause problems for many people Balmorhea suffered too many turnovers playing them though. I am not sure Follett gets by Groom. Someone has to beat Richland Springs before they are not the favorites. Tradition, tradition, tradition.
