My Family had a place for over 30 years at Possum Kingdom,,We have pictures like that with the deer eating out of our hand,,
Word of caution,those deer at P.K. were full of ticks,got so bad we would shoot fireworks to run them off..

Those are some tame deer. I took a picture of a mule deer buck from less than ten yards about a week ago at the grain elevator.

That was cool. We've had a place at Possum Kingdom since the 70's. The deer MarkF speaks of are in a protected no hunting area & especially on the peninsula approach over population. Most are scrawny but I saw one huge rack (for a white tail) years ago. Remember hearing of a guy arrested for poaching in the 80's. Thought at the time not much meat, and, the ticks turned me off, didn't know about lyme disease at the time. Heard the guy was broke & trying to feed his kids.
