Crowell State Champions!

Those boys from crowell played a great game and played clean and unselfish. They will be stacked again next year with a solid run game and receivers. Lex Bond finished out a great season, it was a absolute pleasure watching him destroy teams on the field. Parsley is one of the best players I've seen in recent years, he play's pretty similar to the Durham kid they had a few years ago. Coach Hayes did a fantastic job and from watching the freshman get in there at the end I see good things for the crowell wildcats in the future. Great season wildcats!

This was my first chance to see the championship games and to watch teams out of the west. For the two years since Savoy was welcomed into Sixman, I could never truly understand how there could be such a difference between east and west. I saw that in person and want to congratulate the Wildcats for thier season. I saw a team of young men who came together with a single objective and achieved it.

I look forward and fully expect to see the Wildcats again next year. Again, Wildcats you are the Sixman D1 Champs, pat yourselves on the back for a job well done.

Wish I could have attended the games but distance and work crisis proved insurmountable. I was able to check in on occasion and got to see the 4th quarter of the Division 1 game. I was very impressed with both teams.
My question is what is this "West vs. East" discussion? I am new to this and really don't understand all the different classifications such as TAPPS, etc.
Thanks

East and West generally refers to the geographic location of the teams....
TAPPS is The "Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools
TCAL is the Texas Christian Athletic League

UIL uses regions, there are 4 regions in the state. They group region 1 and 2 against 3 and 4 for championships.
R1 is more are less the Panhandle
R2 is more are less west Texas
R3 is more are less north Texas
R4 is more are less east Texas
East and West is just a fun game we play....

Everything except UIL is a private/parochial association.

West = Districts 1-8
East = Districts 9-16.

Thanks. I guess I was confused because somebody told me West Texas was anything west of I35 unless it is West, Texas. This can be confusing. I'm learning I just wish I could have made a few games.

Dutch,(thats your nickname now) look at some history and maybe it will help you understand. Not just 6man history. Texans are proud of their heritage and like to think that wherever they live is the best. In my case I know I'm right but tolerate other peoples views.............

If you're a true West Texan, West Texas doesn't start until you get west of Sweatwater, and even that is being kind. The Panhandle starts just north of Lubbock.

Everything else is yankee-ville.

I'm honored by the nickname. I didnt know what to use for my login name as I really don't follow one team in particular. I'm still just trying to learn about sixman football.

I knew it was hot there in West Texas, but Sweatwater?

;-)

Smokey has corrected me on my spelling twice in 24-hours. I guess you guys were unaware that Sweatwater is the official British spelling...yeah...that's the ticket. I was practicing my ye olde British spelling.

I really only did it once...... Maybe a little pre-jet lag ?........ Hope y'all have a good trip. I know you'll enjoy seeing your son......
