Competition?

In my opinion, I believe the district winner will be decided on the last game of the year between the SC Eagles and Water Valley Wildcats. If the Eagles can get healthy they have a shot at winning the division to the surprise of everyone and make a run in the playoffs.

So we will see how it all plays out. I would like to see the Eagles win ALL their district games.

GO Eagles!!

I concur with your assessment of the district winner coming down to the WV/SC game. Of course, I'm leaning towards WV as you might assume. If the running back from SC can get healthy by then it ought to be a good one. I'm glad it's played in Water Valley this year because the first round matchup for the District 6 runner-up will probably be Rankin and that won't be any picnic. Whereas the District 5 runner-up (Ft. Davis, Garden City or Marfa) looks to a little more... manageable.

Yeah, I agree. The only thing I do not agree with is why we have to travel to Water Valley two years in a row. Now that is nonsense :) We should be rotating visits.

I am hoping for a good game with the EAGLES coming out on top. But of course we need to get HEALTHY and win our first three district games first.

Every time there is a realignment, which this year is the first of the two years, the schedule is redrawn. Now has Sterling City been in WV district before the previous two years? Do not think so, so one of those things you just got to live with.

C'mon SC Eagles Fan, it's not that far of a drive to come to the WV. You can play football on REAL grass under the ever-watchful eye of Mt. McLaughlin! I promise we'll come to the ever-green field of Sterling City next year.

Sterling City is definitely the closest competition in this district to the Wildcats...Time will tell! I pray that all the players heal and are ready to Play!

My son schooled me on the alignment and schedule. I was just trying to mess with the Water Valley fans a little bit :) I enjoy travelling to Water Valley for any sport because it is the closest school to us and only a 20 minute drive. It sure beats the 1-3 hour road trips. There are several good restaurants here in Sterling. I hope and pray for our players health as well not only so they can play football but so they can lead healthy lives :)

Should be a good game IN Water Valley hopefully for the District Championship :)

More than "manageable". How about just flat out weak this year? The best GC will do is 4-6 (5-5 if they take Rankin), 5-5 for FD (6-4 if they beat Rankin), and I don't expect Marfa will be in the running at all this year. Probably 3-7 with a 0-3 district record.
