I just wanted to say how proud I am of my team publically on this forum. For the majority of this season, we played with only 6 players and the kids fought hard every week. I know some of the players and some of the parents get on this website, so I just wanted to brag on them a little bit. Our final record really doesn't show how hard these kids have worked.

You and your kids probabably learned more about the realities of life and facing adversity this season than you would have going 10-0........................................

Coach that says alot about your players and yourself. Savoy went through that while in 11 man and it's hard keeping the kids head up. Congrats to you and your team and making it this far is outstanding.

Great job coach... I was wondering the same thing when we played in Karnack this past Friday... How the coach keeps the kids motivated to keep coming out every Friday knowing there is slim chances of them winning...Keep up the good work... You are giving those young men the endurance to fight in this crazy world....

Your players have set the foundations for a successful program. It takes more than a season to develop the skill sets and get the pipeline started. Be proud of the fact they played, it's tough to have to play both sides of the ball when you opponents have loads of substitutes and can take a break when needed. Baby steps as my brother-in-law would say, team building is a lot of baby step then you can run.

Hope the teams stays together for next year.

Hats off to Chester and also to Forrestberg. They have been playing with 6 most games this year and they keep on hittin hard even though the games have gotten lopsided. When we (Savoy) played them, they never slowed down

Coach, I don't know all the circumstances surrounding the program, but keep your head up. You did a great job with what you had and hopefully the next coach can build on the foundation you laid.

Good luck coach, my boy didnt play this year but was going to next year as a freshman. He was and is highly upset about what took place as many of us in Chester are. Hope you have great success where ever you go and whatever you do in life.

We (Oakwood) played them last week and I was seriously impressed. Those Chester boys played hard!! I even cheered for them once. (accidentally lol)

Chester just posted their Head Football job on their website...

Anyone know the scoop?

http://www.chesterisd.com/Employment.html
Actually,
it doesn't say HFC.
Just Sec. Hist./Coach.

Could be coachin competitive frito eating.
jus sayin.

I do find it curious
that a brand new FB prog
gives a guy a one-and-done
to build said program.
I would have to be REAL hungry
to apply there,
just for that reason.

Did they ever hire a HFC? I talked to some people from Chester and they said Kirby was pretty well liked...

I know he's caught a lot of crap on here for his age, arrogance, etc. (I admit, I have been ruthless) but he seemed to have done a good job with only 6 players...

Best of luck to him and to Chester...they've still got the coolest stadium in the state!
