In the last 20 years or so there have been five schools that I know of that have been 1 through 8 grades and are now 1 throught 12. They are Grape Creek, Veribest, Olfen, Bluff Dale, and Three Way. Right now I know of 2 that are still grades 1 through 8, Malone and Morgan Mill. First, have I missed any? Second, I was suprised to see Olfen playing high school ball. Area wise, that is a small district. (about the size of Trinidad) Tinidad is in east Texas. Olfen's district probably touches Paint Rock, Ballinger, Miles and maybe Veribest. It is in rural west Texas. Third, how long will it be before Malone and Morgan Mill have High Schools?

I believe Damon ISD (near Houston) was a PK-8 district but their website now says they have a high school program: https://www.damonisd.net/

Damon had a high school and played 6 man until 1942. They never picked it up again after the war was over. I don't know when the high school was closed, probably in the 1950's.

They were playing JH 6 man the past several years against a number of the area private school 6 man schools, their coach came to one of our clinics 5 years ago or so.
