Best Losses

I sit here, after week 6, and have watched us slowly, but surely, drop in the rankings. Not worried about the rankings, because I believe we're right about where we should be. However, I started noticing something about the opponents we lost to. All three are still undefeated. Jonesboro (6-0), Calvert (6-0), Waco Methodist (6-0). Each have beaten quality teams, and all but Jonesboro, have beaten teams ranked higher than them. What my questions is, were we ranked too high, or were these teams ranked too low? I believe it's both, but something I stated about two of our opponents when the first rankings came out. Again, I believe we should be in the 30's; right where we're at. But it's odd to see teams with worse records, and losses that were not to teams in the Top 10, sit higher in the rankings. I say it all the time, rankings are subjective and open for discussion; so I'm open for discussion.

I dont look at the rankings until Week 4 or 5. I believe the rankings before then are based too much on prior seasons, especially among private schools.
I find it hard to believe there is such a discrepancy between the rankings on this site. I tend to agree more with HornKeepers rankings, because it appears he actually looks closely at who plays who and what the final score is. I will view the 2 rankings on this site as well as max preps, and it is not uncommon to have a team ranked in the 20's, 50's and 80's in each of the 3.
