There is a great instructional game being played right now between New England and the Jets. With the start of the 3rd quarter it is 13-10 Patriots. Offensively, Brady has made 35 passes and 5 runs. Brady is the leading rusher with 12 yards. Being a football geek I broke out the stop watch to see the average release time of the pass; to my surprise it was an unscientific 2.2 seconds during the three drives I timed.
Another surprise is the 9 drops they have had in those 35 passes. Brady has thrown to 8 or 9 different receivers so far. I think I may have even seen one thrown to the deflate-ball Boy. (:

The main reason for this post is the play that occurred at 3:50 left in the second quarter. The pass play to Edelman when he was leveled by number 41 of the Jets is almost the same play that Jaquan Williams of Calvert was ejected for in their game versus Bryan Allen Academy. The only difference was Quan didn't extend his arm during the hit and the Allen kid may have taken an extra step before the hit. And of course no one was flagged for targeting. Not exact of course, but it was uncannily similar. If you are DVRing the game, go back and watch it.

I will always favor legends like Terry Bradshaw, Roger Staubach, Johnny Unitas, John Elway and Fran Tarkington. I have to admit right now it is hard to disagree with those who say Brady is the best ever.
And the Jaquan ejection was an ignorant blunder.
