All Star game(s)?

I've got a couple questions about the all star games for TCAL.
first, are there separate games for DI and D2?
second, When will we know who has been picked and how?
third, How many players are picked?

There will be a DI and DII, 1st, 2nd and Honorable Mention team. There will be two meetings during week 11, one in Waco and one in San Antonio. Coaches will present their Max Preps stats and nominate their players while the division coaches will vote the players in. Stats will NOT be the deciding factor. Week schedules, balanced teams and coaches opinions will weigh heaving in picking the players. After both meetings, TCAL officials will finalize the appropriate teams. There will be a DI North vs. DI South game as well as a DII North vs. DII South game. The games will be played on Saturday December 4th, location TBA. 36 players from each division will be picked.

Hate to ask too many questions coach but, where is the north south boundary drawn?

No problem!

Because of all the new teams up north, we will pick the teams to compete. Meaning, we may pull players from the North to play on the South depending on how many north boys are recognized. There is no boundary line this year. With TCAL growth looking good for next year, we may change the structure next season. We want the best 48 boys (4 teams) on the field!

I'm wondering. Let's say someone doesn't have that much stats(such as a center, guard, tight end) but is a very good blocker. Do they have a chance of going to the all star game?

Yes, we will nominate by position this year. Last year we had a WR snapping the ball on one team and a true center snapping for the other. He made the team for his defensive skills so that team was good to go. The WR did a good job but was very nervous about snapping the ball. We will take everything into consideration. I want to see the best teams possible on the playing field. No team is guaranteed a spot. The players will earn their spots, not their team's pick! TCAL has tremendous talent this season. The All Star Game will be fun to watch!

will there be a roster with the selected players that we can see or will each team be contacted indifidually about who made the all star team?

There will be a roster posted the week of the Quarterfinals. The teams will be notified and given plenty of notice to plan. I expect that both teams will have one practice on Friday night.

Hey Coach Bill, just wondering about the all star selections. Have the selections been posted somewhere yet? I checked the TCAL website and couldn't find anything. Any info is appreciated.

Coachbill ...... Has any progress been made on selecting and posting the TCAL all-star teams. I have been to the TCAL website several times and do not see anything.

Appreciate any information you can give on this subject.
