Does anyone other than guys from Gordon remember this guy, Lavel Miller from Bynum? He picked us apart twice in the same season, non-district and then bi-district... close games but he could play. VERY hard to catch, if he got loose, he was GONE. He had to pile up a ton of yards that year.

Think this may have been the first year Granger published and FAXED the Huntress Report, along with handing them out at games... good times :)

Lavell Miller was a JR in 1991 season, was was a Super CenTX player in 91 and rushed "for better than 2,000 yards and established a new school record for most TDs in a season at 54", he also had 10 INTs in 91. Bynum had a new head coach in 1992, Paul Carmon, and it was his first time coaching six-man.

Just a little info I pulled from my new collectible, Tommy Well's 1992 issue of Six-Man Football Magazine, later became Six-Man Illustrated

They beat us both my Junior and Senior Yeat 90'-91'.

If Im not mistaken he also played in the alumni game 3 years ago.

I actually asked around a few years ago. He did join the military I believe and played for army if I'm not mistaken. Anyways. I would love to hear where life took him.

One of the Nike Guys that I'm friends with moved to a place 30 minutes from Powers Oregon. It got me to thinking about their Qb and how unbelievable he was. For those that forgot about the Half 8-man half 6-man game. Powers Oregon won plenty of State championships. Anyways. I got on the Powers Oregon school Facebook and asked where life took that young man after HS.

This was their response :

Ike Ellis. Went to linfield college. Played baseball and FB there. Is currently married, has a new baby girl and works with computer software for hospital/medical facilities. Lives near sprague. His mom is Rita Shorb and dad was Terry Ellis.

Anyways. Good memories and here is their State Game in the rain. He's the Qb. http://youtu.be/wbMnjSd5_xo
