Week 2 Games of the Week

I don’t know much about Prestonwood either…and my son is on the team. :) Defense and special teams are solid. The offense has been overhauled and doesn’t make a lot of sense right now.

    Who ya got?

I know 6v6 isn’t a great indicator but St Jo looked good in Waco last weekend.

    Six Man Receivers

His coaches probably have better film. I just found this on maxpreps. https://www.maxpreps.com/tx/fort-worth/covenant-classical-cavaliers/athletes/lanham-briley/media/videos/?careerid=nul0nck033d88&videoid=94484483-f2bc-49b3-99f0-8ded24d08c1d

    Six Man Receivers

There isn't a QB in UIL who throws it better than Briley.

Open Why are there so many Private school leagues

The thing that bothers me is a school can just decide to leave TAPPS for football for one season and then come back like nothing ever happened. We had several schools in our district just drop out for football, but maintain their membership for other sports. You're either in or out.

    Six Man Receivers

About the way you'd expect when the best QB in the state isn't playing.

    Six Man Receivers

Are you from Knox City by any chance? First of all, he said it was simpler to go run based. Second, you have a complete lack of understanding of how successful passing games work. Do you honestly think a pass based offense is just spread them out and run around? Embarrassing.

    Lanham Briley

According to this article, Strand “only” had 148 TDs. https://archive.gosanangelo.com/sports/high-school/ethridge-sets-td-pass-record-ep-442861813-358524851.html/ It broke the previous six-man national record of 148 set by Nathan Strand of Greenville Christian who last played in 2004.

    Lanham Briley

We played against him last year and then again last summer in the 6v6 championship game. He can really sling it. It's more than just arm talent. He understands where and when to throw it too. I hope he gets a chance to play somewhere in college if he's interested.

STATE GAMES IN TWO DAYS AND NO CHATTER

That'd be one hell of a commute. :ROFLMAO:

STATE GAMES IN TWO DAYS AND NO CHATTER

I know a bunch of the Sentinal folks just signed up yesterday, so the "where were you before today?" argument applies to them. I've been here all season and tried to warn everyone HCC was legit. I'm also a huge fan of Covenant and what Coach Abrams does over there. I would love for my son to...

STATE GAMES IN TWO DAYS AND NO CHATTER

You realize Longview’s best RB got banged up early in todays game, right?

STATE GAMES IN TWO DAYS AND NO CHATTER

Austin Hill Country up 28-12 @ half.

STATE GAMES IN TWO DAYS AND NO CHATTER

I think he did two posts above.

    Six Man Receivers

And Covenant just won back to back championships using an offense that everyone here says can’t win championships.

    Six Man Receivers

You’re the guy who said everyone from the north sucks and would lose to anyone from the south, right?
  18. S

STATE GAMES IN TWO DAYS AND NO CHATTER

Another lowly team from the north dismantles a south powerhouse. Covenant wins 68-30.

STATE GAMES IN TWO DAYS AND NO CHATTER

Covenant Classical leads 28-16 @ half. Pasadena receives 2nd half kickoff.

    Six Man Receivers

Playing him both ways is a discussion for another thread. He's also our best defender (easily our best cover safety), but few people would know that bc our coach refuses to play him both ways consistently. If we have an injury or need a key stop, he gets to go in. In our playoff game, he waited...
