 Underwood's cafeteria
What's everyone's opinion of Underwood's in Brownwood? Lots of good veggies to go with your meal. Good rolls and cobbler too. :D

 Re: Underwood's cafeteria
One of my favorite places if I get within 40 miles of there. If you like barbque, this is the place to go.

Underwood's is great cafeteria food, no question. Do not call it barbque, there is none there.

 Re: Underwood's cafeteria
When we visit the folks in GC, Underwoods is a required stop at least on one way, if not both ways.....The cobbler is the best, and the rest of the food is good too.

I loved Underwoods in Lubbock when it was south of the strip.

Love that place. Great cobbler and good memories of eating there with my buddies and old ag teacher everytime we went through to Goldwaite to fish.

Underwoods is an unsafe option if you are driving long distances... you eat all of that food and all you really want to do is sleep about a half hour later

Bladder pressure and caffiene will keep you awake until the meal is digested.

 Re: Underwood's cafeteria
Calling underwoods BBQ is kinda like calling a lizard an alligator. I confess I like it though.

Great food at Underwoods Murdoch, and that's coming from the land of Paula Deen. I stop there everytime I'm in that neck of the woods.

 Re: Underwood's cafeteria
Underwood's has good potato salad, cole slaw, beans, corn, green beans, great cobblers, rolls and iced tea but I have a hard time calling their meat "barbeque". It's not difficult to get a spirited debate started as to whether true BBQ can be cooked on a standard grill. Of course, for that matter, it's not very difficult to get a heated debate going about nearly any aspect of BBQ. There are some techniques that can be used to achieve some pretty admirable results with a standard grill. As for the stuff cooked in the oven, or the crockpot, soaking in BBQ sauce, it is just plain old baked or stewed meat. It bears no resemblance to real BBQ whatsoever.
