Post Summer Training Camps?
Just looking for information on possible six man summer training camps. The distance doesn't matter just looking for good camps to help my 7th grader have an edge this upcoming season. Thanks.

Some schools have summer football camps for junior high kids in July; I know Coach Rabon here at Seguin Lifegate does a football camp in July (PM me for information), but I'm sure others do as well.

We have a 3 day camp at Gordon in July. Coach Mike Reed from Throckmorton is the lead coach of the camp, also have the coach from Stephenville Faith gonna be there.

I mentioned to our Red&White friend in a PM that one camp I'd look for if I had a young man interested in it would be a kickers camp, even if it's one of those crowded field guys.

Never discount the value of a kicker ... a kid who can boom the ball out of the end zone and hit a PAT -- which in our game is a four-against-six nail-biter every time.

As one coach once told me about one of his (championship) opponents is that the way they killed you was they'd score, kick the PAT and go up by 8, then they'd boom the ball out of the end zone and here you are, at the 20 yard line with 60 yards to go just to BREAK EVEN, if you could hit the kick for the PAT.

Developing a kicker in your junior high program can pay dividends for years to come.
