He is still in Garden City. He was let go in April according to Dave Campbell's Texas Football.

I played against Coach Jones when he was at Sanderson. Would have been nice to coach under him and pick up some tips.

It was a privilege to work with Coach Jones. He is an amazing coach and I have learned more from him than I could ever hope for.

Coach Jones and my uncle were good friends and i was able to pick up a few things here and there over the years. Being from that old District 6, i admired many of those old school coaches such as Coach Jones and Coach Shely in Sanderson, Coach Flippen and Coach Donnell in Fort Davis and even Coach Medina at "The Fort".
