Techinically this isn't High Islands "1st year in six-man" High Island has played six-man before back in the day...believe they even won a few playoff games as a six-man school

Have you tried thinking out side the box...maybe call up Sabine Pass, Gilmer Union Hill, or any 11man school who might want to play six-man in the future so they could get a taste of it

One thing you might want to watch at High Island is not to schedule games against non-UIL member charter schools ... there is an arcane UIL rule that says if you as a UIL member lose a non-district game to a school that is eligible to join UIL but is not a member, you are ineligible for the playoffs in that sport.

You can play a private school without being subject to that penalty.

Now, since some charter schools belong to another league (T-CAL) and there is a group trying to organize a charter school athletic/academic league in Austin, there might be changes to those rules and maybe a call to UIL might be worthwhile.

High Island is now looking for 1 game. We need a Week 6 ( Oct. 12/13 ) or Week 7 ( Oct. 19/20 ). We will be willing to meet at a nuetral site if travel is a concern.
