 week 8 picks
The marbles are all kind of rolling around loose like and its time to see who can pick up the most.
Blankets score with Lometa surprised and impressed me. Were both teams healthy and playing at 100%? Never mind. Doesn't really matter.

 Re: week 8 picks
I think your guess on May - Santa Anna is probably close, but I expect Zephyr to win by 20+

 Re: week 8 picks
I consider any difference in score inside of 20 pts as a close game. In sixman anyway. But a blowout would be 45+.

 Re: week 8 picks
I was at the Lometa/Blanket game, Lometa played a terrible first half and Blanket was playing great, Lometa was down 40 to 20 at one point. The second half was a total reversal as Blanket lost one of their running backs to a knee injury and Lometa got a momuntum switch and started to come back.
Zephyr over Blanket May over Santa Anna
Both games look to be onesided affairs.

zeph·yr \ˈze-fər\ noun 1 a : a breeze from the west b : a gentle breeze
The wind (zephyr) will blow the blanket away. It was a pretty simple pun.

 Re: week 8 picks
Give Blanket some credit...they gave Lometa fits in the first half...lots of pressure on the spreadback caused Lometas tough start...also losing their 2nd best player in the 1st have probally didnt help in the 2nd half. Didnt their best RB get a head injury in the 2nd half too? I will say...
Zephyr 62 Blanket 46
May 72 Santa Anna 36
and Im going to go ahead and call it now....
May 54 Zephyr 48

 Re: week 8 picks
Zephyr and May both win by 45. Then Zephyr beats May by 30 to win the district.

 Re: week 8 picks
Blanket not only lost a good running back but he was their top defensive player as well. So it was at that point that Lometa overcame the 20 point deficit. But credit should go to them for not giving up. It was a good game.
As far as the Zephyr game, Blanket was still missing the runningback/linebacker. Plus they were missing a good offensive player as well. So Zephyr had more weapons. The first half was close. But Zephyr's depth quickly showed up in the second half. Not a 45 game but close.
I look for Blanket to end third in district.
Between Zephyr and May, I give the edge to Zephyr. If Jesko had stayed at May I would give the edge to May. However, I bet it will be a good game since May will be very motivated.
