Congratulations to the Sands Mustangs

Postby WV Backer » Sat Nov 12, 2011 12:48 am

Congratulations on a great year. You played some very tough teams and were in every game to the end. You have the misfortune of playing in a very difficult region where a number of good teams reside. If Sands were in the East I think you would be playing Throckmorton in the semi-finals for the right to play for the championship. Hold your heads high, Mustangs, and know that you were a team nobody looked forward to dealing with.

You guys are an awesome well-coached team and as Backer said... played some tough, close games. I'm not sure why... but I really like that Superman "S" on the side of your helmets. Not sure how many will graduate this year.. but if it's not too many... you guys will be awesome next year.

I don't know if this will be any consolation to the boys from Ackerly, but they can take a little joy from the fact that there is a woman in Aquilla that's madder than hades that Sands will finish the season ranked higher than them.

Appreciate the nice things and respect everyone is showing the mustangs. The team is a reflection of the coach. They are the true definition of a team and I don't say that lightly.

The Mustangs played hard and with class in the game I saw them play this year. It's a shame there are so many good teams in this region this year. Really good teams are going home early this year.

No trophies for second so you might as well play the best to begin with. Just don't know for sure if it's is the best. Heres the deal I think anybody can beat anybody.
