"This week I went to the polls in Texas. Truth be told, I am a pro-life, pro-Second Amendment, small-government, strong-defense and a national-anthem-standing conservative. But, I also believe that black lives matter, that the Dreamers deserve a path to citizenship, that diversity and inclusion are essential to our national success, that education is the great equalizer, that climate change is real and that the First Amendment is the cornerstone of our democracy. Most important, I believe that America must lead in the world with courage, conviction and a sense of honor and humility. If we remain indifferent to our role in the world, if we retreat from our obligation to our citizens and our allies and if we fail to choose the right leader, then we will pay the highest price for our neglect and shortsightedness.

I voted for Joe Biden."

Retired four star Admiral William McRaven

So is the Admiral right? Does that quote resonate at all? He seems like a conservative who has critical thinking skills... but then again I've been nothing but 0wned on here according to Tebow... lol ;)

The admiral certainly has a right to his opinion. Does his opinion influence my thinking? No more than anyone else’s. I tend to make my decisions and do not care to know how anyone else decides to vote.

Admiral McRaven's statement is an attempt to sway real conservative voters who know that a vote for Biden is a vote for Abortion, plain and simple. The admiral can state everything he is for but vote for the party that encourages and funds abortion with American tax dollars. And abortion is about the women's health, at least 50% of those babies killed are female! Who is their defender?? His name and rank mean nothing. The Ten Commandments trumps anything he has to say. This is Texas .

Oh Topher, you are a funny guy! I'll debate/compare my "critical thinking skills" to you, the admiral, Joe Biden, Barack Obama, and/or Bernie Sanders any time, any place, and any where. Although I agree Joe Biden is better on climate change, do black businesses matter at all? Destroying minority owned businesses in downtown areas hurts African-Americans and does nothing to bring anyone back to life. They must not teach the First Amendment in Annapolis anymore because you have the right to PEACEFULLY protest while a person should be able to express their opinion online without censorship from Twitter or Facebook.

While the admiral is entitled to his own opinion like smokey said, I hope his understanding of naval tactics is better than his understanding of domestic policy, or we better start learning Mandarin Chinese.

I try to stay out of politics (except when my county commissioner covers my road with talcum powder) but when I see one of these democrat socialist whiners come on and claim to be an ordinary conservative with all the bells and whistles and then say, "but", I believe in all of Kamala's and AOC's platform, I tend to start getting sick at my stomach! This so called Admiral may have been able to kiss enough butts to climb to the top in the navy, but that doesn't make him smart!
Before he starts praising Black Lives Matter, he needs to do his homework and see what that organization is really about.
Before he starts extolling the efforts of all the rest of the countries of the world to combat climate change, maybe he should check out the emissions of China and India, compared to ours.
Before he starts whining about the dreamers, he needs check out the current immigration policy that gives all people a path to citizenship.
This Admiral is no more a conservative than biden is. But like biden, he probably doesn't have too many brain cells firing in sequence.

How? Because he wants to ban fracking, ban coal, embrace the green new deal, etc.? It would have made more sense if you would have said the Biden is better on destroying our economy and legislating us back into the Neolithic Period.

We can't control a virus. How in the hell are we going to control how the earth regulates itself?

Climate change is just a dog whistle for more government interference in our lives - can you say socialism?

The admiral in question is a never-Trumper. I'm not really a pro-Trumper - but I am more anti-socialist than I am anti-Trump.

I agree 1000% with everything you said, rainjack. Biden is better on global warming, but that is a negative to me because I don't believe in climate change. I basically conceded the point so I didn't have to talk about it. To be honest, I'm impressed you called me out on

Appreciate the input on Admiral McRaven's post. There is a lot to unpack with the responses to be honest.

I don't understand why the POTUS keeps going after Hunter (who is guilty as heck) instead of Joe. Does he not have any dirt on Joe that matters? Joe hasn't gone after DJT's kids and let's put the cards on the table... if this election wasn't happening then Hunter would be best buds with Ivanka, Eric, and Junior. They are all spoiled rotten brats. Why is the administration delaying on releasing what they have found on the laptop? Its just more and more of the "wait, wait, wait". You'd think if they found anything of substance it would have been all over the news and Twitter... it's all talk at the moment. Does anyone have a link to the actual contents? PDFs, JPGs, etc of what is on that laptop? Show me proof not just conjecture

Oh and Tebow, you have 0wned me time after time after time, I don't wish for any more of your 0wnage. lololol ;)

Topher it appears there is plenty of dirt on Joe if you delve deeper into this.

Hunter traveled with Joe on state visits. I suppose just to make sure he took all of his meds......I’m also sure Joe never asked Hunter about any of his business dealings since Hunter had been so successful prior to his father’s rise to power on the international scene. That seems like the actions of a very caring father, right? There have been numerous videos of Joe in essence bragging that he withheld billion dollars from Ukraine unless they fired a prosecutor that was looking into criminal activities of the head of the company that Hunter is on the board of directors. Guess what? They fired him. There is plenty of dirt, the media just chooses not to report it....... unless it involves Trump of course.
I suppose you are only watching and reading Official State sponsored media, CNN, NBC. CBS, PBS etc.

Oh hecks no... Hunter is a cr00ked m-fer just like Eric, Junior, and Ivanka. I just wanna see the actual documents instead of just talk about a laptop. Show me the files and I will believe that this laptop is the straw that broke the Dem's back otherwise it's just silliness put out by Fox to stir up the GOP rage.

I could be wrong but do not remember any articles about Eric, Junior, or Ivanka getting kicked out of the military for doing drugs. Seem to remember reading about that when Hunter Biden was kicked out. And if the truth were known the only way he got in was because of his name and dad's position. Don't know either family so have no idea if they would be close friends if neither family were in politics. I don't think they would because the Biden family would not be any where near the Trump family in terms of wealth so really don't see them being friends.
And as far as the admiral, I do not believe for one second that he is a conservative. Really wish he would move to Calif. and join his democrat friends.

I read the emails to Mr. Zhao in China... what power of office was Hunter selling if the emails are dated 2017? lol

oldergoat - Really? Sooooo Eric, Junior, and Ivanka are spotless, hard-working Americans who have obtained their wealth and privilege through good old fashioned know-how and gumption? I can use the word "gumption" with ya cause like myself we are old as Methuselah ;)

What an absolute disaster of a performance from Sleepy Joe. He definitely should have just hid away in the basement. Not only was he was unprepared, he has totally incoherent with most of his replies.

Tebow, you're dreaming if you think Ivanka contributes anything to society other than fashion sense. She makes Sleepy Joe look like a genius. lolol
