Is it true that whoever named Ogg Texas couldn't spell egg? Or they just had too much Grog and couldn't spell it either?

Is Tarzan still on the map? Had a friend who claimed Dan Blocker grew up there. Although one of the towns out of Lubbock always claimed the honor.
