Weights and Basketball

Like many of you guys, all of our football players also play basketball. How do you guys who are in similar situations keep your guys in the weight room during basketball season? We lifted once to twice a week during football season, and while I certainly do not want to do anything to take away from our basketball program, I do not want my guys off weights until Feb. Any advice/ideas are appreciated.

I know in Paducah we used to lift twice a week during are athletic class then worked on basketball after school.

As a recent player, I preferred lifting fairly heavy during football, then switching to more high-repetition workouts during basketball. Keeps you strong and doesn't leave you terribly sore in the middle of a basketball week. But that's my opinion, seemed to do well for Freddy last year.
