Re: South All-Star Team Final Roster
Wow, that's kinda interesting. OLH only has 2 players and Bracken is only represented by 5 (both teams still in the playoffs). Hill Country is sending 6???......What a shame that #22 from Bracken(All-State first team kicker & full-time defensive player) is left off this list. I must be missing something here. Funny how one team is sending more players than a team that beat them twice this year. Must have something to do with Granger's ranking machine...LOL

FYI-the list was posted Friday 11/18 while all 3 teams were still in the playoffs and ACH only lost once to Bracken.

My bad, looks like Bracken is ONLY sending 4......hard to believe that #22's individual stats(PAT's, FG's, Touchbacks on kickoffs, tackles, interceptions, etc...) doesn't warrant a trip to this game.......Who determines the finalists and why announce/decide results before the season is over?....What if a player were to go stat crazy in the playoffs, those games don't count?

Pat's is was almost perfect and Touchbacks on almost all of his kicks. Honestly on defense on the game he played against us I really do not remember him. I still have nightmares about 3 and especially 6 as for everything else, I have no idea...hopefully someone else that has been around longer than me will know...

Just to help you understand a little, my son was a 4 year All State Kicker. He was also All State at Tight end and Nose Tackle. He too was left off the All Star Team. It just boils down to numbers. Jesse can only take the athletes at "skilled" positions.

Re: South All-Star Team Final Roster
It really is a shame that we cannot accept more boys to the final roster. There are some very talented young men that do not play in the All-Star game. Just to help some understand why we do the things we do. 24 man roster- this is already a huge roster. Anything beyond this number would mean each player would really struggle to get any significant minutes. Selection date- If we waited until the playoffs were over, we would never be able to get jerseys/programs made in time for the game. One kid over another- I assure you that more than one coach is consulted about each kid and data is analyzed as thoroughly as possible. Kerrville only had two - It is a senior all-star game and Kerrville only sent two senior applications. Other schools had more. The point - The All-Star game is not perfect but at the heart we try to honor as many worthy athletes as possible.
In Christ,
Jesse Erhart

Re: South All-Star Team Final Roster
Nomination also required the consent of the player who may have had a schedule conflict and could not participate and so was not nominated.
