Post Off Season Strength & Conditioning
Greetings 6 man nation!

It's been a while since I have visited these forums. My name is Jake Waldrop, a former Denton Calvary Lion athlete. The reason I'm posting a topic about off season strength and conditioning programs is because I'm interested in which schools currently have a program and how the programs are organized and executed.

During my time at DCA, we had poorly run off season programs, with little to no experience coaching us. I understand this is mainly due to the limited resources Tapps 1A schools possess. I really wish there would have been something setup that I could have followed in order to knowledgeably improve my strength, speed, agility and overall athletic ability.

I'll cut straight to the chase..I now work for a company called Performance Course. We are a group of CSCS specialists who design, organize and execute sport specific strength and conditioning programs. We currently operate in many of the top football programs in the State including Southlake Carroll, Allen, Aledo, Highland Park, Marcus etc..

Being a 6 man alumni myself, I really wanted to open up a similar opportunity to 6 man athletes. I doubt we would be able to run programs in any 6 man school, but I would love to be able to transfer our knowledge, expertise and programs to coaches so they can construct a "Performance Course" program inside their own school.

We are currently playing with the idea of starting a subscription website to reach coaches and schools we cannot physically have a presence in for a fraction of what our programs cost. The website would contain everything a coaching staff would need to successfully construct a "Performance Course" program. It would include:
- Video Exercise Bank
- Facility & Attendance organization (in order to set up workout efficiency in order to save time)
- Sport Specific Strength and Conditioning Programs
- Performance Nutrition Guidelines (Includes supplementation guidelines)
- Step by Step coaching points on Lifts
- The latests Science backed Strength and Conditioning principles incorporated into wourkouts
- Progressive Speed Improvement Program
- Step by Step Speed drill coaching points

This is just the tip of the Ice Berg and the idea is still being developed. I wanted to run it by my fellow 6 manners' because I recognize the need for this sort of thing. The best thing about this idea, is that the website would have programs and the appropriate info for every sport your school has.

You may remember my fellow teamate, co-worker and roomate Stephen Baca ( I think his name has bee thrown around on here a few times). We were talking the otherday about how much we wish we would have had something like this at our school. So to give back to the 6 man community we want to run it by yall first!

I would love any feedback, comments, criticism etc..

Sounds about as effective
as plugging in an exercise DVD,
but MUCH more expensive.

Apparently that's a first impression that needs to be overcome. Thanks for the comment
