 Re: Week zero games
That would be a good game and a continuation of an old rivalry that ended when BC went back to 6 man in 1980. They played in a bi-district game in 2005, but it would be nice to see GC play Sterling City, Borden County, Klondike, Sands, Loop, and Water Valley every year. That would nicely fill the non-district games every year.

 Re: Week zero games
I have a better idea. Let GC go up to Oklahoma and play some 8 man schools. Same game, only 2 more players. Ha

 Re: Week zero games
Hp drifter I c u think slot of GC trying to send themto play a different game so u don't have to compete with them that's a good idea for ur team. But I like old bearkats idea best that would give some good teams to set up for district.

 Re: Week zero games
Actually it was a little dig at the Bearkat. My Fairy Falcons are not a bit afraid of the Garden City bunch. Our best player Hogleg Barstow was stranded on an island in New Guinea during the war and is just now home and though he is a little old, he still has eligibility. All those years chasing monkeys for food and kept him really agile and fast. Four of his great grand kids will be on the starting lineup with him so we will be tough, tough.

The Pyron Eagles are not afraid either. Led by Center Bohl Wievel and his blazing speed, jet ehanced by eating an entire pot of pinto beans the day before the game, and Hal Itosis at QB, they are ready to leave any oppponent next season gasping for breath in their wake.

 Re: Week zero games
If you can get powers to be at GC to agree to it, you would be showing your true greatness.

 Re: Week zero games
I just talked to the AD in Hico and here is the line-up: Garden City vs Calvert Strawn vs Valley Ira vs Motley County Trockmorton vs Follett Walnut Springs vs Rising Star
The games start at 10am and, I believe, will be played in the order listed. I hope everyone can make it - I know I will.

This will be the first year without them won't it? I thought it would be great to have a Strawn/Gordon game there as they will not play each other in district this year. Andy PS the two top teams in DivI and Div II should finish the year as follows. Gordon Longhorns Division I State Champions Strawn Greyhounds Division II State Champions

 Re: Week zero games
Our guys are going down to Bracketville for their Border Blowout. Kinda close to Del Rio so I'm not sure where the real blowout will be?
