Week 9 Player of the Week:
Brandon Brinkman – Blackwell – 12-19-0 for 220 yards, 7 TDs passing; 15-152 yards, 1 TD rushing

The sophomore QB Brandon Brinkman threw seven touchdown passes and rushed for another in a big win of district foe Loraine, 58-18. The game started out as a back and forth battle, but thanks to the Hornets passing attack, led by Brinkman’s 12-19-0, 220-yard performance, Blackwell stays undefeated on the season, with their record standing at 8-0, the best start in school history without a tie.

Honorable Mentions:
Jordan Brown – Coolidge – 12-105 yards, 3 TDs rushing; 2 KO returns for TDs; 8 tackles
Brown scored five of Coolidge’s six touchdowns in a really big district win over Aquilla, 38-28. Brown’s two big kickoff returns for touchdowns were arguably the biggest plays of the night and helped spark the Yellowjacks, as they battled back from early deficits for the win.

Matthew Urbanovsky – Abbott – 25-322 yards, 8 TDs rushing; 17 tackles
The biggest night rushing this week was turned in by Mr. Urbanovsky, with his 322 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground, as Abbott defeated Penelope, 78-28, and kept the Panthers' playoff chances alive.

Wyatt Mote – May – 9-11 for 191 yards, 5 TDs passing; 8 tackles, 1 INT
Mote turned in another impressive night against Gorman ,as he failed to complete only two passes. He went 9-11 for 191 yards and five touchdowns through the air. He also played well on defense with eight tackles and an interception, as the May Tigers remain undefeated at 8-0, beating a tough Gorman team, 64-14.

JC McDonald – Panther Creek – 5-180 yards, 5 TDs rushing; 3-3-0, 57 yards, 2 TDs passing; 1 KO return 75 yards for TD; 9 tackles, 1 INT
Call JC McDonald Mr. Efficient. He provided maximum results on the ground with five carries, all for touchdowns, while racking up 180 yards in the process. Passing, he had only one attempt that didn't result in a touchdown, as he was 3-3-0 for 57 yards and two scores. He also returned a kickoff for a touchdown and picked off a pass in the Panthers 64-16 win over Brookesmith.

Coylin Grimes – Calvert – 4-151 yards, 4 TDs rushing; 7 tackles, 1 INT returned for TD
In another example of efficiency, Grimes carried the ball just four time, all for touchdowns, gaining 151 yards along the way. He also returned an interception for a touchdown in Calvert’s 61-14 district win over Oglesby.
