Week 3 Player of the Week

Ethan Pierce – Cranfills Gap – 424 yards, 10 TDs rushing; 17 tackles

Coming up big on both sides of the ball for the Lions, Pierce accounted for 517 total yards of offense, as they beat Mullin, 82-76, for their first win this season. His 424 yards rushing is the 2nd best public school rushing yardage in a game, and his 10 touchdowns on the ground is the most in a game, so far in this young season.
Full stat line: 24-424 yards, 10 TDs rushing, 3-3 for 81 yards 1 TD passing, 1-12 yards receiving, 17 tackles (10 solo), 1 forced fumble

Honorable Mentions:
Colton McCarley – Happy – 533 yards of total offense

McCarley turned in another great performance against another top tier team. His incredible 533 yards of total offense was key as Happy defeated Valley 84-56. Colton rushed 23 times for 244 yards and six touchdowns, while also going 11-15-0 passing, for 289 yards and four touchdown passes. He also added nine tackles on defense.

Dayton Dunbar – Fannindel – 62 points scored, 10 total TDs scored
Fannindel did an amazing job spreading the ball around in their big 106-56 win over Campbell. Dunbar happened to find himself in the end zone the most, as he scored eight touchdowns rushing and two receiving, as well as tacking on two one-point conversions, for 62 total points scored. Receiving he hauled in four passes for 152 yards, carried the ball 13 times for 144 yards, and also picked off a pass on defense. He had 302 total all-purpose yards.

Wyatt Young – Jonesboro – 18 tackles; 12 solo, 3 for loss; 10-143 yards, 4 TDs rushing; 2-2-0 for 30 yards passing
Jonesboro bounced back from their Week 2 loss to Milford, as they defeated a tough Avalon team, 63-20. Wyatt Young played an important role in the game on both sides of the ball, rushing for 143 yards and four touchdowns, while also being involved in a total of 18 tackles on defense.

JD Moore – Forestburg – 7-8 for 160 yards, 3 TDs passing…including a passing TD to himself! 400+ total yards of offense.
In the crazy statistical mess that is a hook and ladder play…QB JD Moore complete a pass and then was on the receiving end of the pitch on a hook and ladder play and scored…which goes down in the books as a passing touchdown for Moore and a receiving touchdown on no reception! Forestburg defeated Weatherford Christian 70-22 and is now 2-1 on the season.

MarKavion Thompson – Milford – 3 INTs
Thompson found himself on the receiving end for three Gholson passes, as Milford won easily 51-0. His three interceptions are the most by one player in a game this season.
